Untersuchung der Zähne auf Kreidezähne

Therapy for Chalky Teeth

"Chalky teeth" (technical term: molar-incisor hypomineralization) refers to teeth with noticeably softer and thinner enamel than healthy teeth. Healthy enamel consists mainly of mineral salts such as fluoride, calcium, and phosphate and is hard enough to withstand the strain of chewing.

With chalky teeth, this enamel is porous and low in minerals, making the affected teeth more sensitive to cold, heat, and sweets and more susceptible to decay. The first permanent molars and the incisors are usually affected.

We treat chalky teeth individually from intensive fluoridation to protective sealing or fillings, depending on the extent of the enamel weakness.
